What is bought is stockpiled and then allocated on the basis of need. The DHS's order is expected to last for at least five years, and it was placed up front primarily as a cost-saving measure." Indeed, DHS is not even bound to buy that much; they merely have a tab on which to order more rounds as needed.

That certainly doesn't mean there aren't questions or that we should simply shrug and look the other way. For starters, the Department of Education recently placed an order for "27 Remington Brand Model 870 police 12-gauge shotguns." This might lead any reasonable person to ask, as Cooke does, "Whether it is in possession of one bullet or 1 million bullets, should the federal Department of Education be armed in the first place? If so, why?" We would add, should there even be a Department of Education? But that's a topic for another day. The DoE has been known to botch raids when it was the wrong enforcement vehicle from the start.

The same questions could be asked of any number of bureaucracies. Does the Social Security Administration really need an armed enforcement division? We've known some unruly seniors in our day, but that seems to be overkill.

House Republicans launch ‘2nd Amendment Initiative’ v. Obama gun agenda

The House Republican Study Committee (RSC) has launched a Second Amendment Initiative for the 113th Congress under the leadership of Indiana Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-Third District) to counter what they believe is President Barack Obama’s “out-of-touch agenda” on gun control.

In a press release, RSC Chairman Rep. Steve Scalise (R-Indiana) asserted that the president’s “radical anti-gun agenda is a threat to our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.”

Senate “Deal” Would Impose Even More Gun Bans

Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will mark up four bills arising out of the Newtown tragedy:

* The Feinstein bill — which would ban millions of shotguns, rifles, handguns and magazines that Americans can legally own -- but which will probably die on the Senate floor.

* The universal gun registry — which may also die on the Senate floor — unless a last-minute deal with Sen. Tom Coburn brings it to life.

* Legislation by Barbara Boxer, which throws away $100,000,000 on school safety studies, but doesn’t immediately mention guns.

* And, currently the biggest danger, the Leahy-Gillibrand-Kirk bill, which has ominously been labeled a “gun trafficking” bill.

Teacher Robbed At Gunpoint Inside Boston School

On Wednesday night, a suspect described as a black man in his 20′s, about 5-feet-8 inches to 6-feet-1 inches tall, medium build and wearing a hoodie made his way to the second floor of the Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts.

Executive Director Abigail Norman says he showed a weapon and demanded the teacher’s wallet and cellphone.

“He (the teacher) had a lot of poise, lived in the city his whole life, and knew to give the stuff away,” she said.

Late last month, a local pastor announced the plan for a gun "buyback," but one of a rather unusual nature. Pastor Rodney Francis, of the Washington Tabernacle Baptist Church, plans not to buy real guns, but merely toys. From CBS St. Louis:

While St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson is raising funds for a gun buyback program, Pastor Rodney Francis of the Washington Tabernacle Baptist Church wants to catch kids before they even think about wielding a weapon.

His church is planning a toy gun buyback later this summer.

- Slaves aren't supposed to have the idea that they can fight back, much less that it's their right, duty and responsibility. In this regard our domestic blood enemies have been successful.

Jesse Jackson Sr. to attend Hugo Chavez funeral in Caracas

As Carbon Dioxide Levels Continue To Rise, Global Temperatures Are Not Following Suit

New data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are continuing to rise but global temperatures are not following suit. The new data undercut assertions that atmospheric carbon dioxide is causing a global warming crisis.

NOAA data show atmospheric carbon dioxide levels rose 2.67 parts per million in 2012, to 395 ppm. The jump was the second highest since 1959, when scientists began measuring atmospheric carbon dioxide levels.

- What must be remembered about 'global warming' is that true or not it's it latest excuse for "Liberal"(commie) trash that sometimes call themselves 'environmentalists' to control every aspect of our lives.

US teenager Taylor Wilson designs compact nuclear reactor

According to TED Blog, he said: "I realized that the biggest problem we face — what all these other problems come down to — is energy. This is a talk about fission — about taking something old and bringing it into the 21st century... I think this has a huge potential to change the world."

TED Blog reports that what Wilson has invented is a Small Modular Fission Reactor that can be built in factories and shipped to anywhere they are needed. The reactors are installed three meters underground which makes safer from the perspective of counter-terrorism than reactors built above the ground. They are also molten salt reactors, meaning, according to TED Blog, that they can run on the waste from old nuclear weapons and thus make it possible to find a way to use the material from weapon stockpiles, another safety issue from the counter-terrorism perspective.

The Second Amendment is about the common person's right to own weapons of war so that we can keep the govt. in its place by keeping the 'monopoly on force' in the hands of the people where it belongs, as in 'We the people.' Remember that? It will not be infringed any further and the 'gun laws' in existence will be repealed. End of discussion.

Time to repeal all of the ‘gun laws’ including GCA ‘68 and the NFA; Shut down the evil BATF Nazis and try them for treason, and murder where appropriate and distribute their retirement funds among their victims; Then enforce the Bill of Rights on places such as Commiefornia and New Yawk and Chigawgo and if necessary bring the troops home and have them restore Liberty here and remove Amerika’s natural born traitors in the process.

McCain, Graham blast Rand Paul

The snarling, obnoxious RINOS who always find a way to roast their own rather than the real enemies on the other side of the aisle have struck again. John McCain, R-Ariz, and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. blasted Rand Paul, R-Ky., for his 12 hour filibuster in the U.S. Senate Wednesday.

Sen. Paul filibustered Obama nominee John Brennan for CIA Director. The issue was the administration's drone program, which Attorney General Eric Holder claims gives the president the authority to kill Americans on U.S. soil without any due process of law whatsoever. Paul had help from only three other Republicans -- Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Mike Lee, R-Utah, and John Barrasso, R-Wyo.

Two leading figures within the Obama administration now insist that the president of the United States does not have the authority to launch drone strikes on US soil.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) received a response from the Obama administration on Thursday afternoon after spending 13 hours demanding answers about the possible use of drones inside of the United States.

Illinois still not acquitting gun carry defendants months after ban overturned

Despite having its blanket ban on concealed carrying of firearms outside the home declared unconstitutional in December, no defendants charged with possession have been acquitted, the ban is still being enforced, and will be until this summer, attorney Adam W. Lasker is reporting in the March issue of the Illinois Bar Journal.

"People are still being charged with felonies for simple possession of a weapon -- not using the weapon to commit a crime, but just possessing it outside of their home," Lasker quotes Chicago-based defense attorney Robert Pervan. "Judges are just continuing matters until June, by when the legislature should have enacted legislation that won't interfere with or conflict with the Constitution or cases like Moore and Sheppard. It's in limbo right now."

Senate Gun Trafficking Bill Ignores Abuses Under Fast & Furious

ThThe Leahy-Gillibrand-Kirk legislation (S. 443) was introduced on March 4 and is entitled the “Stop Illegal Trafficking in Firearms Act of 2013.”

While presented as a bipartisan “compromise” draft, the bill threatens to put gun owners in jail with very long sentences for minor infractions.

Essentially, S. 443 would impose a 15-year prison sentence for “negligent multiple sales by a dealer,” “negligent gifting” or “negligent raffling.”

Illinois Congressman makes bid to disarm the poor

Yesterday, United States Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) introduced H.R. 965, "To prohibit the possession or transfer of junk guns, also known as Saturday Night Specials." The Hill quotes Rep. Gutierrez's justification for such a ban:

"I am concerned about the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. But I am also concerned by the 'slow-moving massacre' that is occurring every day with handguns," Gutierrez, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said Monday in Chicago while announcing his bill.

 The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has customized its Predator drones, originally built for overseas military operations, to carry out at-home surveillance tasks that have civil libertarians worried: identifying civilians carrying guns and tracking their cell phones, government documents show.

The documents provide more details about the surveillance capabilities of the department's unmanned Predator B drones, which are primarily used to patrol the United States' northern and southern borders but have been pressed into service on behalf of a growing number of law enforcement agencies including the FBI, the Secret Service, the Texas Rangers, and local police.

 Do you really believe politicians will stop at this? Next they will create a card which all must carry and a drone could access that card and see everything about you...your name, age, weight, psychological assigned index, gun owner registration, family, autos, political party...and the list goes. Then, based on the number an algorithm comes up with, you could be justifiably zapped, and your body parts used or turned into dog food. Sound preposterous? The Feds are already discussing a universal ID card for all citizens. Of course, such a card would NOT be used for voter ID, because it would eliminate dead democrats!

However, at this point, this late in the session we are trying to focus only on the good and bad bills that have action and or are still viable at this time, that we are aware of. This of course is subject to change later in the week. We appreciate everyone's patience in our endeavors to track and alert you to legislation.

- Really need to call on this Fusion Center garbage. Really dangerous stuff. Shows how dangerous Beshear is. I told my rep and senator and the leadership of both houses to not only oppose HB 167 but to shut down the Kentucky Fusion Center as it now exists. It's just more police state power they don't need. Some of it might seem to be good, but the governments have proven over and again that they cannot be trusted to do 'the right thing.'
