Here’s a news bulletin — it is becoming increasingly clear that we are
living in a time when Republican politics are being shaped by a 75-year-old,
12-term Texas congressman with a son in the Senate. And incredibly, it is no
longer out of the realm of possibility that this outcast of the GOP
establishment may win the party’s presidential nomination.
If you have not been paying attention, it is time to look around and realize
that we are living in the political age of Rep. Ron Paul.

Letter Shows Oregon Sheriff Taking-on the Feds
Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson is apparently challenging Federal
authority within the borders of the Southern Oregon county. In a letter
obtained by the US~Observer, Gilbertson writes to Roy Bergstrom of the
United States Forest Service:
"As the CLEO [chief law enforcement officer] of this County, elected by the
citizens, saddled with the expectation and responsibility to safeguard their
rights I fully intend to uphold the laws against any threat, inappropriate
or unlawful actions against them. The citizens of this County are
complaining about unfair treatment and harassment by the federal government
LEOs.
The issues of illegal road closures, grazing, logging, minerals, taking land
under the auspices of “Monument” status, citizen complaints against your LEO
[law enforcement officer] agents, high unemployment and other socio-economic
issues we all face today; coupled with the uncooperative nature presented by
the USFS are causing me great concern about our relationship and future
cooperation."
--- Too bad we don't have more sheriffs like this. But many are made dirty
by the 'drug war.'

SEIU drops mask, goes full commie
A May Day rally in Los Angeles, co-sponsored by the SEIU and various communist groups, as well as other unions, reflected yet another step in the normalization of self-identified communist and socialist ideologies in the Obama era. Not only did the SEIU help to organize the rally in conjunction with communists, they marched side-by-side with communists, while union members carried communist flags, communists carried union signs, and altogether there was no real way to tell the two apart.
--- I don't understand... Dan Rather told us communism is dead.

Gas prices soar past Kentucky average
U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., pressed Democrats on Monday for answers
regarding rising gas prices, hours before the cost of a gallon of regular
unleaded surged toward the $4 mark at many stations in Bowling Green.

Mexico Sues U.S. Gun Manufacturers Over Obama Program
Not content to pack off millions of miscreants, impoverished, or
labor-averse citizens to the welcoming, welfare-bestowing arms of the United
States government, Mexican President Felipe Calderon has decided to hold
Americans responsible for his nation’s crime rate, as well. On November 2,
2010, Calderon retained the New York law firm of Reid, Collins, and Tsai to
sue American gun manufacturers and dealers for the reputed massive influx of
weapons into the otherwise zephyr-swept Shangri-La of Mexico.

Should the state be able to take your kids, or does it have too much power?
All parents make mistakes, but in Michigan, one mistake could cost you your
child. Critics say it’s happening all too often because we have one of the
worst laws in the country when it comes to how and when the state can take
your children.

GOA Endorses Phil Moffett for Governor
Gun Owners of America Endorses Phil Moffett for Governor
Gun Owners of America is proud to endorse Phil Moffett for Governor in the
May 17 Republican primary.
Phil is a strong supporter of the rights to keep and bear arms and dedicated
to protecting the rights of Kentucky gun owners.
As governor, Phil will stand against unconstitutional intrusions of the
federal government. Along with his running mate, Mike Harmon, he understands
that the U.S. Constitution is a check on federal power-not a grant of
unlimited authority.

Texas Legislation Proposes Felony Charges for TSA Agents
Rep. David Simpson (R-Longview) introduced a package of bills into the Texas
House of Representatives on Tuesday that would challenge the TSA’s authority
in a number of ways. The first bill, HB 1938, prohibits full body scanning
equipment in any Texas airport and provides for criminal and civil penalties
on any airport operator who installs the equipment. The second bill, HB
1937, criminalizes touching without consent and searches without probable
cause.

Mitch McConnell Yet Again Tells Fiscal Conservatives to Go to Hell
The message was clear, the Tea Party and GOP grassroots wanted a senator on
Finance to deal with taxes, healthcare, and entitlement reform. Senator
DeMint has taken the lead on Obamacare repeal, the GOP health care
alternative, pushing for Paul Ryan-style medicare voucher reform, and
working on flat tax reform.
Instead of tipping his hat to tea party, Senator McConnell pressured and
convinced Senator Richard Burr to change his mind.
Today, McConnell named Burr to Finance giving a highly valuable position to
a guy whose Senate career is marked by being pro-amnesty, pro-TARP, and an
author of S-CHIP.

Republican down-ticket candidates face big name-ID deficits, cn|2 Poll shows
The races for the Republican nominations for state auditor, secretary of
state and agriculture commissioner remain wide open with between 60% and 70%
of likely GOP voters polled for cn|2 saying they’re undecided.
That’s not too surprising in an election in which voters haven’t show much
excitement and when the candidates for those offices are just beginning to
advertise this week, said Scott Lasley. Lasley is an associate professor of
political science at Western Kentucky University and Warren County’s
Republican Party chairman.
--- So pathetic that the average voter has to see it on the weaponvision or
some other 'official' source for it to be relevant or true.

National Emergency Alert System Set To Launch In NYC
A new national alert system is set to begin in New York City that will alert
the public to emergencies via cell phones.
It’s called the Personal Localized Alert Network or PLAN. Presidential and
local emergency messages as well as Amber Alerts would appear on cell phones
equipped with special chips and software.
snip...
“We believe this new alert system is a welcome addition to our arsenal of readiness,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said. “It’s like a police officer’s gun: it’s there for a good reason but we hope that we never have to pull the trigger.”
snip...
For now, the alerts are capable on certain high-end cell phones but starting
next year, all cell phones will be required to have the chip that receives
alerts.
By the end of the year, the new system will be in place in New York City and
Washington and in cities around the country by the end of 2012.
--- All the better to scare and manipulate the sheeple...

Williams maintains big lead, Moffett gains in primary poll
With Kentucky's primary election less than one week away, a new WHAS11/Courier-Journal Bluegrass Poll shows the ticket of David Williams and Richie Farmer in control of the Republican race for governor.
Yet, self-proclaimed Tea Party candidate Phil Moffett is making some gains.
As Republican voters begin to make up their minds, their support of Senate
President David Williams is not growing. His showing is flat from one month
ago. Phil Moffett, meanwhile, has gained seven points compared to the last
poll.
--- Time to be calling people, and sheeple. Time to be handing out fliers.

Zogby Poll: Cain Now Second to Christie As Top Choice Of GOP Primary Voters
Herman Cain trails only Chris Christie as the top choice among Republican
primary voters in the race for the 2012 Presidential nomination. Mitt Romney
ranks fourth, but voters see him as the most likely nominee by a wide margin
over the rest of a 13-person field.
One-half of GOP voters say they would never vote for Donald Trump, and more
than 30% say they would never vote for Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Mike
Huckabee or Ron Paul.

Texas Militia members say possible TV series could improve the group’s image
Between live fire drills, learning how to handle a sniper situation and preparing for disaster situations, the Texas Militia is comprised of a bunch of guys with normal lives and jobs who "just want to be here for the community."
Full text of the article is here.
--- There's nothing wrong with a militia being involved
in community action. But the militias must keep their primary purpose as
being a militia of the people, not the state or federal government and of
restoring the Liberty that has been lost and being ready to defend what
little Liberty we have left. Anything less than that is a cheap word game.
They must also recognize that our greatest enemies are right here, were
probably born here, probably have white skin and call themselves
"Liberals"(commies) and progressives and sometimes 'conservatives and
'libertarians' to hide their evil.

Governor, First Lady participate in ceremony to reopen Otter Creek
Gov. Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear today participated in the
official reopening of Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area in Meade County.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources acquired the
2,261-acre area after the city of Louisville closed then Otter Creek Park in
December 2008 due to budget constraints. At the time of closure, some
100,000 people visited the area each year.
--- Good, now city people, not sheeple, will have a place close by to hunt
and shoot and get exercise while not being harassed for exercising their
most basic right.

Word(or phrase) for the times: shock and awe
Quote for the times:
"Patriotism is not blind subservience to government, nor
loyalty to a particular leader or party. Patriotism is vigilance in
protecting and preserving the US Constitution from all who would pervert or
overthrow it, or in any way diminish our many rights, liberties, or
sovereignties. Patriotism is a willingness to pay a price for our freedom."

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should
not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all
experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while
evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms
to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and
usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to
reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their
duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their
future security." -
The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America,
Adopted by Congress on July 4, 1776
(To the Founders, 'state' meant independent sovereign nation state,
that was voluntarily entering into the union and could theoretically
un-volunteer later.)
